Just to let you know that our friendly local game store, Travelling Man, is going to be re-opening. They still have an online store, but for those wanting to see products, collect pre-orders or have regular deliveries, etc. then this is great news! Here's their announcement, copied from Facebook:
📢 ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPENING 📢
To all our dear friends and customers, we hope you’re well and thank you so much for supporting us with mail orders through these unprecedented times- we couldn’t have done this without you.
We have some exciting news... we’ll be opening our doors for trading in our stores again on Monday 15th of June! 🎉
This opening comes with a few changes, designed to keep you and our staff as safe as possible. Going forward, we’ll be implementing:
* Amended opening times (11.30am-6pm)
* Lunchtime closure (30 minutes at 2pm)
* Stores CLOSED on Sundays and Thursdays
* Social distancing measures in-store
* Limiting the amount of customers allowed in-store at one time
* Staggered return to work for staff
* Perspex screens for the counters
* PPE for staff
* Hand sanitizer available
This, of course, all depends on government advice, staff experiences and how the virus pans out- but we promise to keep you all updated!
Thank you so much for your patience and support, you’ve helped keep an indie business running and we’re infinitely grateful.

Just a note from Nexus that they have made some changes to improve security for nighttime events, which we fully support and shouldn't adversely affect us:
1. The main front doors will be closed shortly after events start, to prevent random members of the public hanging around smoking in the stairs/hallway or refusing to leave the premises. While it hasn't impacted games nights, Nexus sometimes have challenges with this (probably more on a weekend). As such, Nexus will experiment with having a staff member on the front door for the first 10-15 mins of an event & will then close up, leaving the cafe number on the door for any late arrivals to call down for entry. Staff will also occasionally go up and check that nobody has been left stuck outside.
2. When we leave, Nexus have asked if we can wait around until the staff have locked up so they don't get challenged at the front door when they leave - we do this already, so no change
I'm sure you understand and we will benefit from these added safety features.

Nexus Art Cafe (thanks Tom!) have now created a series of events on their Facebook page for us, which is fab.
You can find them here: www.facebook.com/events/2344234385622032/
Have a look and feel free to click when you're coming along. This will also act as a good reminder for you if you're a regular Facebook user.

All,
I've now added the event to www.tabletopday.com (just waiting for admin approval before it goes live) and to Eventbrite so locals can find us and we can gauge numbers.
Tickets on Eventbrite are free, so please head over to the event entry and book a ticket - click through the calendar link or head over using this direct link:
www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/nexus-gaming-group-international-tabletop-day-2018-tickets-44525895151
This will help us know how many to expect.
Thanks,
Matt C

All,
This year's ITD is on April 28th. I've already contacted Nexus to book the nook as per usual. However, they already have a group that have booked the nook every Saturday afternoon 1:30-4:30. So that puts pay to that for a location. I'm open to suggestions, but currently have 3 proposals:
1. Do nothing as a group, it'll get too complicated - we can try to find events organised by other groups instead
2. Meet in another location, such as Fanboy3 or Ziferblat (could get expensive for a day's outing, and would need to ask permission first - Fanboy 3 could be busy that day...)
3. Meet in each others homes for smaller gatherings and post pictures and stories on here to share in it together virtually
Any other suggestions? Any thoughts?
