Who Are We?

lots of games being played

Welcome to Nexus Gaming Group - a collection of people who enjoy playing tabletop games and meet once a month to share that enthusiasm.

For those not familiar with the term 'tabletop games', they are quite simply games that can be played on a table... board games, card games, role play games, etc.

We don't play traditional games like Monopoly or Scrabble, because most people have played those loads already and are looking for something new. We also don't play long-running role play games, as those really need a dedicated forum to carry a campaign for many months.

We do play games that can be taught and played in an hour or two - games like Pandemic, Ticket To Ride, Medici, Citadels and plenty more besides. We also hold ad hoc members-only gaming events, for example to play a game like Twilight Imperium that will take all day.

Games are explained to anyone who hasn't played before, so there is no need to have any experience playing in order to take part. Depending on the number of players, we may run more than one game simultaneously so that no-one has to wait to play. A few members already bring a reasonable selection of games each month, but please feel free to bring your own to share. We collectively decide what games to play on the night.

The group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month with a start at 7pm and finish at 10pm (please note this is a new time, effective from April 2018) - players arrive and leave as transport and schedules dictate. The Calendar displayed on our home page has details of each session coming up. Also, keep an eye out for the occasional special event, such as International Tabletop Day around Easter.

Nexus Gaming Group meets at Nexus Art Cafe (drinks are available throughout the session, just be careful with them around the games...) and is supported by Sanctus 1 (who kindly arrange for Nexus to remain open for us). To become a member, just come along to one of our events and say hi!
