A day for NGG members (and invited guests) to play a single game that will take all day to play. NB attendees need to be able to commit to the full day.
This event requires interested parties to confirm attendance in advance by 'buying' a free Eventbrite ticket - if you've not received your invite, please email Matt.
A poll has been added to determine preferences from the following (alphabetical) short list:
Arkham Horror (1-8 players) - suitable for the time of year, this is a game taking its theme from H P Lovecraft horror novels - players are trying to remain sane and alive while battling an ancient god-like alien and its minions, shutting down the portals to this world and preventing an apocalypse in the process Letters from Whitechapel (2-6 players) - play as Jack the Ripper trying to commit murder and stay away from the cops, or play as the police trying to capture the ripper as quickly as possible Merchant of Venus (1-4 players) - space trading game where you try to dominate by earning money to upgrade to better ships and equipment and build space ports and factories Twilight Imperium (3-6 players) - in case those who played this space opera earlier in the month want to have another go now they know the rules (well... some of them)

Me and James will be there, so hard to pick one game to play. Though maybe you're right about Arkham Horror being a good choice for the time of year

I agree Laura, it's a hard choice. Especially all the fun I had last time with Twilight imperium (even as the space turtles). Arkham Horror does sound like a great game though!

At some point I do want to experience twilight imperium because of it's awesome reputation and... Space turtles??? On yeah Merchant of Venus sounds very interesting judging by Paul's description (and I usually enjoy Paul's games). But I agree that the time of year demands a fitting tribute so I'm quite happy to go with arkham or Whitechapel. Whatever we play I'll be there

I'm always up for Twilight Imperium, I'm glad a lot of people seem like they would want to play it again.
But that said, Arkham Horror sounds really cool and creepy enough to be very fitting, so I'm going to go for that (I think by this point it's a foregone conclusion anyway)

I'm afraid I'm no longer available this day so I'm ducking out of the poll for now and unless someone else knows Merchant of Venus you'd probably best leave it for now and play something someone is available to teach. Have a good day all.
